adventure

local: Sun Adventure Sports

Living in a small town means that typically, there isn’t more than one or two of anything. Sun Adventure Sports is one of two (and a half-ish) bike shops here in town. This year, they’ve gotten a new owner and done a bunch of sprucing up in the shop, so they needed some new images for their website - that’s where I come in! All the guys are super nice, and I had a good time wandering around taking some initial shots. I’m definitely looking forward to more serious shooting with the crew, and seeing their website come together over the next few months.

tourist: PDC Trading Post

I don’t know how people exist without National/State Parks in close proximity. Or REALLY good burgers, for that matter.

Somehow, I had never been to the Trading Post in Palo Duro Canyon. Needless to say, I grabbed myself some lunch dates and that little issue was promptly fixed. In addition to the best assortment of touristy souvenirs, they serve the best burgers and fries. As if I needed any more excuses to head out there on a regular basis…

excursion: Clarendon Camping

Milestone: Pitch an 8 person tent together with no instructions.

Even though the tent was *slightly* large for two people, we finally got to go camping together for the first time and had a great weekend. The weather at the lake was beautiful, and Top of Texas Disc Golf hosted another awesome tournament.

tourist: Las Vegas

For some reason, that I'm sure not mad about, Las Vegas has become an annual mother/daughter trip destination. This year, we went to celebrate mom's birthday in grand style. Billy Idol, Cirque du Soleil, and so much good food.

Last year we learned that walking the entire length of The Strip is possible, but not advisable, and somehow still ended up doing so again this year. I've got my fingers crossed we stay at the Flamingo next year (I'm still obsessed with it), and plan to eat more than just one meal at my new favorite place, Serendipity 3

tourist: Hot Springs

We're only a few months into 2016, but I've already had the chance to travel to quite a few places. Recently, I spent a weekend in Arkansas for the first time - we hit Conway, Glenwood, AND Hot Springs. The weather was perfect, as was the company. Luckily, I've got plenty of reasons to head back there in the future.

where you are: Casita Blu Cabins

While in Ingram, I got to experience my first Air BnB. We stayed at the most perfect little cabin directly across from the Guadalupe with a pomegranate tree in the front yard. If I ever get to retire and be a hermit, this is the kind of place I would go, but for now, I'll just settle for nice weekend getaways.

excursion: Stonehenge II

Stonehenge II is probably the coolest, strangest thing in all of Ingram, Texas. As if a replica Stonehenge wasn't cool enough, there is also a replica Easter Island statue not too far away in the same field.

tourist: Ingram

Ingram is the best kind of tiny town. Super close to water, weird landmarks and stellar locally owned establishments. We didn't get to explore much during the weekend we spent, but I liked what I saw despite the gloomy weather.

quality time: Witchy Weekend

A few weekends ago, I packed up and joined some witchy babes on a trip to Ingram, Texas. We stayed in the cutest little cabin directly across the street from the Guadalupe river, and spent three days relaxing and enjoying the cool, rainy weather (thanks, hurricane Patricia).
