adventure

When I first moved to Austin, I wasn't very adventurous with the route I took driving to and from Amarillo. I haven't taken the longer way in a few months, but I'm sure I still know every single landmark along the way.

where you are: Cookie Monster House

During my senior year of high school, the cute, little gray house I grew up in got a fresh paint job. My mom was out of town at the time, and we had vaguely discussed choosing some shade of blue, but when the time came to pick the color, all the pressure was on me. I perused the swatches and picked "blue bloods" entirely based on name, and assured the painter that it was the one and no I didn't want to reconsider, thank you very much. Pleased with my paint choosing skills, I headed out of town to meet up with mom.

Luckily for us, I like any shade of blue way more than any other color. When we got back into town our house was BLUE. Really, REALLY blue. Best decision I've ever made? Possibly.

A couple of years of being in love with the color of our house later, we found out that some of the local college students had taken to calling it, "the Cookie Monster House." I couldn't have come up with a more accurate or fitting name if I tried.

where you are: Holiday

This house has quickly become not only one of my favorite places to shoot, but one of my favorite places in general. It's always filled with the most beautiful light, and just feels the way a home should feel. These images were shot at various times between October and April.

where you are: Happy Medium

It's nice to have friends in the same field as you; it makes them much more likely to agree to getting up early on a Saturday to have their picture taken.

Cynthia is one of the most genuine, talented people that I'm lucky enough to be friends with. She not only lives in the prettiest, most light filled apartment, but she also has the cutest puppy on the block.

It also happens that she and I have been working together to stay productive and motivated, even with busy real life schedules. I can't wait to announce the project we've been working on together in the upcoming months.

outtakes: Junebug Weddings

I didn’t get to spend nearly as much time as I would have liked with the Junebug Weddings girls, and not everything on the roll made my initial cut. Those things aside, here are some of the additional images from the day I spent in their office.

where you are: Junebug Weddings

The Junebug Weddings crew is the nicest, most precious group of blonde gals you could ever hope to meet. I had the opportunity to spend a day working with them in their perfectly curated office, and couldn’t help but take a few extra photos while I was at it.
